Fish leather made with technology SHADI has been tested in European laboratories, which have confirmed its compliance with the highest environmental requirements of the European standards.
More than twenty thousand fish species live in oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. A tenth of them, that is, about two thousand species, are commercial fish species. The scale of industrial processing and skinning is increasing every year, so the volume of raw materials is huge and it is constantly increasing. All raw materials used in production are by-products of the food industry. NO FISH ARE KILLED PURPOSELY TO GET THEIR SKIN!
Fish leather is a unique material.
Firstly, it has a high degree of durability. For example, fish leather is several times stronger than other traditional types of leather. Its absorptive capacity is several times lower, so that its resistance is much higher.
Secondly, in its raw form it is normally regarded as a waste of the fish processing industry. The processing and the application of the fish leather for clothing, footwear and accessories is an invaluable contribution to the preservation of our environment.
Thirdly, it terms of its aesthetic qualities fish leather ranks equally with crocodile, python and many other exotic animals. It is thin (from 0,3 to 2 mm), elastic, easy to be dyed in any color. Some fish´s leather, such as sturgeon, has a unique pattern that makes the product look exclusive.
All these qualities make it possible to use fish leather in a wide range of applications, such as, clothes, footwear, accessories, haberdashery, hats, interior items, souvenirs and jewelry – these are only some examples of its possible applications.
